How to set up OnePay

OnePay is a Walmart-backed prepaid Visa debit card with no monthly fee. This guide explains how the setup process generally works. All actual setup steps must be completed in the official OnePay app — BNPLPick has no access to your account.

⚠️ Independent guide only. BNPLPick is not affiliated with OnePay. We cannot activate your card, access your account, or assist with transactions. For account support, use the help section in the OnePay app.

1

Download the OnePay app

Search for "OnePay" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Before downloading, confirm the developer is One Finance Inc. to ensure you have the official app. Do not download any third-party app claiming to be OnePay.

2

Create your account

Open the app and tap "Get started" or "Sign up." Enter your email address, create a secure password, and verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox. This creates your account directly with OnePay — not with BNPLPick.

3

Verify your identity

Federal law (USA PATRIOT Act) requires all US prepaid card issuers to verify your identity. You'll be asked for your legal name, home address, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. This is standard for all US financial accounts — it is not a credit check and has no impact on your credit score.

4

Get your virtual card instantly

Once identity verification is complete, OnePay issues a virtual Visa debit card immediately. The card number, expiration date, and CVV appear in the app. You can use it for online purchases and Apple Pay / Google Pay right away.

5

Order a physical card (optional)

Request a physical card through the app if you need it for in-store purchases. The card typically arrives within 7–10 business days. There is no fee for the physical card.

6

Add money to your card

Fund your OnePay card by setting up direct deposit (free, early deposit available), transferring from a linked bank account, or adding cash at Walmart Money Centers (free reload). Your account routing and account numbers are available in the app under the Direct Deposit section.

💡 Pro tip: Set up direct deposit to take advantage of early pay — OnePay typically deposits paychecks up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled pay date when direct deposit is used.

7

Start using your card

Your OnePay card works anywhere Visa is accepted. Use the app to check your balance, view transaction history, freeze/unfreeze the card, and manage account settings. For any issues, tap the help icon in the top-right corner of the app.

Green Dot Bank

How to set up Green Dot

Green Dot is a widely available prepaid debit card with a monthly fee that is waived with qualifying direct deposit. This guide explains how the setup process generally works for informational purposes only.

⚠️ Independent guide only. BNPLPick is not affiliated with Green Dot. We cannot activate your card, access your account, or assist with transactions. For account support, call the number on the back of your Green Dot card.

1

Choose how to get your card

You can apply for a Green Dot card online at greendot.com or purchase a starter kit at participating retail stores (Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General, and others). The retail kit typically includes a temporary card you can use after loading funds.

2

Register your card

Whether you purchase in-store or apply online, you must register your card at greendot.com or in the Green Dot app. Registration requires your name, address, date of birth, and SSN last 4 digits. Without registration, your card has limited features and lower spending limits.

3

Download the Green Dot app

Search "Green Dot" in the App Store or Google Play. Confirm the developer is Green Dot Corporation. Log in with the credentials you created during registration. The app lets you manage your account, view transactions, and set up direct deposit.

4

Set up direct deposit to waive the fee

The standard monthly fee is $7.95, but it is waived when you receive a qualifying direct deposit each month. In the app, go to Move Money → Direct Deposit to find your routing number and account number to give to your employer.

5

Add money to your card

Load funds via direct deposit (free), bank account transfer, or cash at the register at thousands of retail locations. Cash reload fees vary by location. Check the Green Dot app for nearby reload locations and any applicable fees before reloading.

6

Activate your physical card

If you ordered a card online, it arrives in 7–10 business days. Follow the activation instructions included with the card — this is done through the Green Dot app or website, and requires your card number and personal information you provided during registration.

💡 Pro tip: Green Dot offers 3% cash back on online purchases made directly through the Green Dot app. This can add up significantly if you shop online regularly.

Issued by Green Dot Bank

How to set up Walmart MoneyCard

Walmart MoneyCard is a Walmart-branded prepaid Visa or Mastercard issued by Green Dot Bank. It offers Walmart-specific cash back rewards. This guide explains how the setup process generally works for informational purposes only.

⚠️ Independent guide only. BNPLPick is not affiliated with Walmart or Walmart MoneyCard. For account support, call the number on the back of your Walmart MoneyCard.

1

Get a Walmart MoneyCard

Purchase a Walmart MoneyCard starter kit in-store at Walmart or apply online at walmartmoneycard.com. The in-store kit is typically available at the register or customer service desk. The card comes with a fee card carrier — keep this for reference.

2

Register and verify your identity

Register your card at walmartmoneycard.com or in the Walmart MoneyCard app. You'll need your name, address, date of birth, and SSN last 4 digits. Registration upgrades your card to full features and allows direct deposit, higher transaction limits, and FDIC insurance coverage.

3

Download the Walmart MoneyCard app

Search "Walmart MoneyCard" in the App Store or Google Play. Confirm the developer is Green Dot Corporation. Log in with your registered account to access your balance, transaction history, and account management features.

4

Set up direct deposit to waive the monthly fee

The monthly fee is $5.94. To have it waived, set up a qualifying direct deposit. In the app, tap Settings → Direct Deposit to find your account and routing numbers. Provide these to your employer's payroll department to route your paycheck directly to the card.

5

Load funds onto your card

Add money via direct deposit (free), bank transfer (free), or cash reload at Walmart Money Centers and customer service desks (free). Cash reloads at other retail locations may carry a fee. The Walmart app (separate from MoneyCard app) also lets you load funds at self-checkout.

6

Earn Walmart cash back rewards

Once your card is funded and active, cash back rewards apply automatically: 3% at Walmart.com, 2% at Walmart fuel stations, 1% at Walmart stores. Rewards accumulate in your account and are credited annually or when you request a redemption via the app.

💡 Pro tip: Order groceries online at Walmart.com using your Walmart MoneyCard to earn 3% cash back — significantly higher than the 1% you'd earn shopping in-store.

7

Use your card and manage your account

Your Walmart MoneyCard works anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Use free ATMs at Walmart Money Centers. The app lets you check your balance, view transactions, transfer funds, and freeze or report your card if needed.
